Auseco’s excursions to align with the new Stage 4 and 5 topics are ready to preview now, ahead of teaching in 2026.

We have two combined excursions for each Stage which feature two topics in a single, awesome day out in the field.

Cells & Classification and Living Systems programs for Stage 4 will be available at our bushland, wetland, rock platform and rainforest sites. Students will classify creatures using dichotomous keys, observe specialised cell structures using field microscopes, and measure biotic and abiotic features of ecosystems with field equipment.

Materials and Environmental Sustainability excursions for Stage 5 investigate polymers and their devastating impact on marine and wetland ecosystems. Students will undertake a microplastics survey, study how plastics move around in the environment, and investigate the food chain and bioaccumulation. This field trip is available at two of our coastal locations.

If you’d like to request a sample worksheet for these field trips, please fill in an enquiry form.
