Fees

Check our Fees & Charges page for costs

Staffing

Auseco allocates one staff member for every 30 students. We can arrange to have smaller class sizes for an additional fee.
Each class must be accompanied by one or more school teachers.

Transport

All our field sites are accessible by bus. It is up to your school to organise buses privately. We provide location maps for you to send to your bus company.

Site information

For location details, meeting point and a map for each site, please see our Locations page. Directions will be provided with your teacher’s information pack.

Risk assessments

Teachers will be provided with comprehensive risk assessments for each site, including details of the facilities, terrain and accessibility.

Special requirements

We try to accommodate students with additional needs so they can participate as much as possible. Please advise us in advance of any individual requirements we can prepare for.

What to wear

Sports uniforms are ideal as well as a warm jumper and wet weather gear.
Everyone will need a hat and sunscreen on all excursions.
If you are going on a rock platform or wetland excursion, a pair of shoes to get wet are a must as well as a change of shorts, underwear and a towel. A plastic bag to carry wet clothing is a good idea too.

What to bring

All participants (including staff) should carry a backpack containing:

  • Pen, pencil, eraser, calculator
  • Clipboard
  • Water bottle
  • All their food for the day
  • Weather gear such as raincoat, umbrella or sunhat
  • Sunscreen
  • Any change of shoes or clothes as required by your site

Each teacher should also bring:

  • Worksheets for each student
  • Spare pens – someone always needs one!
  • First aid kit
  • Any medications required by students

Bad weather

Excursions can usually proceed in wet weather. Most field sites have sheltered areas to use, and activities can be modified if necessary.
Where there is a very poor forecast or a Severe Weather Warning issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, please contact us ahead of the day to discuss options. Postponement is subject to availability.
See our Terms & Conditions for further information.
